TIME LINE:
1979 - Originally a gas station business, the company opened their eighth shop as an auto supply store in the KAMEARI area of Tokyo Japan. The shop was first named “Car Shop KAMEARI”. At that time, the shop sold car accessories such as seat covers, wax, car stereos, etc.
1980 - Shigeo Mori was working as an attendant at the gas station, is promoted to manager of Car Shop KAMEARI.
1985 - As a part time hobby, Shigeo Mori begins drag racing his modified L-Series motor. About this time, the shop gradually changes from an auto supply store into a tuning shop.
1987 - With the goal of peak power performance for drag racing, the production of cams, valves, and other cylinder head parts begins. Sales increase as KAMEARI begins appearing in magazines and is known for having well crafted engine parts that give superb performance.
1990 - A drag car using original KAMEARI parts wins multiple competitions. Then with three consecutive title wins under their belt, the company gains the respect of the race industry as a top performer. As a result, retail and wholesale sales dramatically increased and the company hits its first milestone towards success.
1995 - In order to continue developing newer and better performance parts, the company is incorporated and renamed “KAMEARI Engine Works”. Shigeo Mori is also named as the head representative. Using a combination of lab testing, Dyno, and race track data, numerous engine parts were developed and completed. Once KAMEARI developed the crankshaft, rods, and pistons for the L-Series motor, a new nationwide trend began towards tuning the L-Series engines. Just as the company has done for the L-Series, it has expanded their product lines to the 2TG, 18RG, 4K, FJ20, S20, and A-Series motors. KAMEARI continues to work day and night and strives towards the goal of building the ultimate machine
